勇気あるリスに完敗！In this morning, I luckily captured the funny moment between a squirrel and our dogs.

Bella and Hachi happened to run across the ambitious squirrel at the up-stair’s window. This squirrel was hanging out for a while on the roof. He/she was like teasing our dogs through the window. It was just hilarious!

I’ve been taking a long break from this pooch blog. I realized that there are many things happened to our dogs, so I should start writing again with some interesting things about them.

First off, Hachi has gained his appetite after feeding him Beneful Dog Food (Purina). The consistency of Beneful in chunky bits is slightly softer than Dog Chow. I guess that Hachi needed some changes in eating habit with a different food. Since then, he eats food like a “real” hungry dog.

Bella 12 months old

Bella has been growing up dramatically. Last month, she escaped for four times from the opened front door. Nothing serious happened to her every time she did. But we were so frightened with it. I guess she now learned how to hold herself back staying away from the open door. She’s a very fast learner and really great dog. She still has a bad habit to taste her stool in the backyard. It might take long to time break that habit.

Their everyday routine is now like this.

• A short morning walk at 6:30 am.
• Napping for 3 hours till 10:30 am. (Sometimes, around 9:30, Bella starts bugging me out by stealing my hands off my desk.)
• Brunch time at 10:30 am.
• Playtime from 11:00 to 12:30 including a bathroom break (especially, for number 2!).
• Afternoon napping time from 1:00 to 4:00 pm (or, 4:30pm).
• Playtime (family time) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
• Dinner at 7:00 pm.
• Night walk at 7:30 pm.
• Playtime chewing a toy at 8:00 pm to around 9:00 pm.
• By the time of 9:30, they seem tired and relaxed in their bed.

Also, Hachi has lost his weight to 80 lb. He used to be around 85lb. Bella has not gained much weight (40 lb), so she might remain in that way for her whole life.

まさか大御所もまぬけ面で寝落ちするとは！

夫婦は似るとか、兄弟も似るとか言うけど、ここまで似ちゃうとは…

めんこいから良しとするか。

Bella learned the first trick in 2010.
It took her only 15 minutes to get it.
She still mixes with “speak” when she begs for a snack.
Hopefully, she will distinguish “shake” from “speak” soon.

silly face

Bella is apt to have such face when she sleeps because of her overbite mouth.

But I haven’t seen such a silly face on Hachi.

It’s so funny to see how much they are influencing each other.

一時の平和

ベラちゃん来て1週間が過ぎた。
ハチも慣れたかな。
休戦中のお二方。
平和そのもの。

昨夜はノミ駆除用の薬をベラの背中に塗る。
ハチはノミ・寄生虫・フィラリア予防薬飲んでるから問題なし。

ケンネル風邪、今だ咳・痰あり。
少しは良くなってるカンジはあるけれど。

It’s been a week since Bella joined our family.
She and Hachi are getting along more and more, I think.
She is paying more respect to Hachi.
Hachi now approved of her as a family member.

Her condition of Kennel Cough is getting mild although she still has a cough and phlegm.
We applied a flea/tick treatment on her back last night.
Hopefully, it’ll help her stop scratching.
